Hisham’s practice encompasses corporate and commercial work with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, taxation, and dispute resolution.
He assists foreign businesses in establishing their presence in the Maldives and frequently advises on tax compliance requirements and most tax-efficient ways to structure investments to mitigate tax liabilities and maximize profits.
He also has experience advising foreign and domestic investors on transactions relating to hospitality industry, property and infrastructure development, and project financing. Hisham’s business understanding, negotiation, and execution abilities make him uniquely effective in assisting his clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Hisham held office as Assistant Attorney General in the government of Maldives, where he was engaged in providing legal advice to public entities on matters relating to legislation and drafting government contracts, and appeared before the Supreme Court on behalf of the state.
Hisham graduated from the International Islamic University Malaysia with an LLB (Hons) degree.
